Hi guys, need some input, I have a 392 LE. Factory target looked great.
Since the first day out of the box I have yet to duplicate that group. Thought it may be the scope, change to Leopold, now a Centerpoint, no luck. BTW, pellets used have been a spectrum of Beeman FTS, Crosman Premiers, H&N's, RWS's. No consistent grouping. Every shot acts like a "flier" . I'm getting a consistent none consistent group of around 1 1/2" to 2" at 20 yds. And maybe my imagnation, but it seems like the spread is opening up more. Oouch! Any ideas or is this thing going back to Crosman. |

| Check the barrel crown- usually the B-J guns are better than the straight "Crosman" branded products- but often the crowns are in need of some work. |

Many have been found to have paint in the crown of the bore also. The more you shoot it, the more the paint 'roughs up' giving worse groups.
Paint remover , goo gone and JB bore paste have all been given as solutions to use. Check the crown and make sure there is no paint in the barrel. It'll probably look 'dull' if paint is in it, although with enough lead polished into it, it may shine at this point. |

| Thanks guys, Skyler had mentioned these things to check but I didn't get the concept or the steps to correct. I'll re-clean the barrel, check crown and put it back on the bench. |

Wow, The barrel is actually shiney brass in the bore. Cleaned the last 10inches or so carefully with laquer thinner and the dark color disappeared. Crown looked ok.
Went out and punched some paper. Groups tightened right up. Here's the kicker, my best groups are with standard Crosman P22 pellets. They'll print under a dime if I do my part.
Another question if I may. This is my first airgun, I used to shoot Hi-Power. This Benji seems to be hold sensitive, is this my imagination or is this something normal for this and/or other airguns?
Thanks for the help. |

Normally multi stroke pnuematics are not hold sensitive.
Check to see if it has a loose stock screw or play in the action . . . |

| Thanks I'll check, but more than likely the only loose screw is in the operator. This thing is sweet. |
