Time to be honest guys. How many airguns have you bought just because they reminded you of a favorite movie, literary, or video game character? Next part to be honest about, How many time have you either set up targets in such a way, or just pretended to be that character? I find myself doing this a lot anymore. Before you think I'm going insane, (which happened a long time before now!) I have a friend who has been a psychiatrist for many many years, and he told me this is actually healthy, as long as you don't get stupid with it. (my interpretation)
He said doing this helps keep our brains healthy by not allowing too many neurons to get "clipped" from non-use. Studies seem to point towards being able to play "pretend" inside your own head helps you keep creativity and intuition high. It also seems to point to keeping your mental flexibility high for dealing with unforseen things, good or bad.
This is also why video games aren't as good for us as just going out in the backyard and "playing" James bond. The games are set too much in a framework that doesn't allow our creativity enough freedom, although they are better than nothing.
So, next time the Punisher or Judge Dredd bug bites you, have fun with it! Hell for you ladies that like our stuff too, Lara Croft in the video games is a BADASS!! |

Honestly, I can't recall having done this with any airguns- probably because I'm too fixated on trying to hit the target(s). |

Well, It was a weird conversation with my friend that night. do NOT drink tequila with a psychiatrist. Trust me. I think I am scarred for life with some of the darker theories that were explained to me. |

As you can see from that little picture under my name - I am in no way afflicted with that malady. |
