Good God I haven't been here in forever! Not by choice though. Moved to some property I inherited, and I have been trying to get a phone line installed since July. Weather and wildfires have not cooperated. Anyway, since I am visiting family and they have internet, I thought I check out some old faves and post some pics of stuff I have been working on.
Here is the first:
I basically reshaped the grip and forestock to fit my hands better. I also raised the comb and put toolbox liner on it. I then used plasticote on the grip and comb. I also made my own version of the GRT trigger after buying one and not liking the curve of it. Still tuning out the fit of the stock exactly to my liking though. The trigger makes a nice change. I recommend it.
Here is the second:
I've changed the grip completely on the backside of this one. I followed the back line around the grip and carefully cut it away. I then shaped some poplar to fit perfectly inside, used a plastic bonding epoxy to make it permanent. Glued another piece to it and shaped it to fit my hand while making sure it had more rake. Also removed that stippling from the front of the grip. That was awful on my calluses. I am now a lot more accurate with it.
I've missed chatting with you all a lot, and I can't wait till I have internet full time again. We will be here until after Christmas so maybe I can reconnect with some of the old timers and get to know all the newbies. Have a great holiday! |

Hey al! You still have that rohr twinmaster I always lusted over? Lol. I wish those were sold here. Lol The big thing now here is"replicas". All most of them are just glorified underpowered bb guns. Bunch of junk for a serious shooter. No accuracy at all. |

Hi Todd, yes I still have the Rohm Twinmaster and use it regularly, unfortunately they do not make it anymore. As for replicas I bought a Umarex Colt 45 1883 Army it shoots pellets and is very accurate also a very good copy of the original, see the link’

Anyway have a good Christmas & new year Todd.

Hey Slavia! Still working with those antiques? Those pics you posted were always so pretty! And Al, I now see you as a Clint Eastwood with a London cockney accent. Lmao I have this huge intimidating looking super Blackhawk clone that I am working on modifying to shoot pellets. I am looking into using a rifled sleeve barrel and boring out the shells to the proper diameter.it does have a 5 inch smoothbore barrel in it now, so at least I have enough length for some decent accuracy. Not worried about power, but I would like to be able to hit a beer can. Lol the damn thing won't hit anything beyond 10 feet. |

There’s nothing better than sitting out in the garden in the summer sunshine having a beer, then shooting at the empty cans.

Well, for me it's Coca-Cola. I can't drink alcohol any more. Too many ulcers. Really don't want to have stomach surgery. Not being able to have a beer with my steak or pizza is killing me. Lol |
