| Just curious about how much one would spend on a chronograph. And also what features should I look for in buying one? |

A basic chronograph will just record single-shot velocities. The next question is what sort of conditions will you be using it under- i.e. outdoors or inside? If inside, you may need a lighting kit for it to function properly.
Typically, different chronies beyond the basic have added features, like memory of you last 'x' number of shots, then the ability to manipulate this information- for example, give you an average velocity of all your shots, etc.
You can get a PC-interface for most chronographs to record your data, and some have a dedicated printer attached to them to print out your results as you go along.
Then there is the style of chronograph- large, professional-type chronies may be table-top mounted and take up alot of space. Others sit on a camera tripod and can be moved around quickly and easily, and at least one chronograph out there is fastened to the muzzle of the gun- making it very portable.
The most economical and still feature-rich chronies out there are made by Shooting Chrony Inc. (their website: http://www.shootingchrony.com ).

| SoftChrono is an inexpensive audio chronograph if you're geek enough to tweak it. Otherwise an F1 chrony at D&R sports is the best deal I've seen. |

Wow I did not know about an audio chronograph. I may try that with my llaptop. |
