In an effort to assist those who are going to the EBR this fall, Al Nelson of NOE, at my request, expedited the production of my .308 cal. 135 gr. Bob's Boattail....
This bullet requires lots of pressure and/or a long barrel to reach 900+ fps, because of it's high Sectional Density of 0.203.... The NOE bullet design program calculates the potential BC at 0.243, and the bullet will require a 14" twist or faster for optimum stability.... The tooling was done in a matter of days, the moulds are finished, and are now available in NOE's Online Store.... http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/index.php?cPath=374_378
They are available in 2-5 cavity, in aluminum or brass, with a Lyman style HollowPoint pin in one cavity.... NOE sell handles, or the mould will work with the inexpensive Lee 6-cavity handles (although you may need to thin them slightly).... NOE also sell an excellent Bushing Push Through Sizing Die setup.... It comes with a die with three bushing holders, and there are Body Bushings and Nose Bushings available in most PB sizes.... Replacing only the bushing allows you to have multiple choices for much lower cost per size.... http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/index.php?cPath=104
The even heavier 155 gr. BBT is also being expedited by NOE, for those who have a rifle like the Extreme .308 capable of utilizing them.... It needs an 11" (or faster) twist.... If you are interested in this bullet, please put your name in the discussion thread at NOE.... http://noebulletmolds.com/smf/index.php/topic,1100.0.html
