I like to hear any excercises that I could use durring my youth practices.
A few that we've used in the past are cutting playing cards. Cut a slit in the cardboard target holder and stick the corner of a card in. NPA and alignment have to be perfect to cut the card in one shot, Its hard even them but it can be done, and kids love trying.
Another is lighting strike anywhere matches. Kids realy like that one. |

For me the hard part is not aiming the gun at the playing card. It's aiming the card at the shooting position. You also pretty much need wadcutter pellets - the domed ones just glance off.
Get a whole bunch of same-sized empty plastic soda bottles. Stack them in a pyramid, bases facing the shooter. Then play Jenga with the rifle. |

When I was a kid I used to make pocket money splitting playing cards at the local fair ground, I was with a .22 LR round. The trick is that you only have to sight one way left or right the up and down doesn’t matter. And as Slavia says you have to line yourself up to the card.
For fun I shoot blackboard chalk just chop it off in 6mm bits, they explode quite well.

We've done something similar with Saccharin tablets.
Slavia, far as the soda bottle Jenga, wouldn't they all fall on the first hit? |

Where in the hell have you found strike-any-where matches that actually work in the last 35 years?! |

Laying on their sides, bases to the shooter, supported at the base on the left and right. |

Cap rolls for kiddies cap pistols work well, you need to stick then to a piece of steel bar or something similar.

Steel bar might work for air rifle, but there'd be alot of ducking in BB. You don't think they'd work if you taped them to cardboard? We've shot the throw on the ground snappy pop things. They were underwelming. |
