I went shooting yesterday, and found a working red dot sight in the trash at the range. It was in with a bunch of spent 7.62X39 cases, so I'm guessing it was on a SKS or AK type rifle. Got it home and found out one side of the dovetail base had cracked off completely. I found two other internet reviews mentioning the same thing. The reason? The entire thing is polymer. Plastic. Junk.
Granted, it's only a $30 scope. But - the dot is relatively free of parallax type movement, and free is free. I already know how I can put it to use.
The point is, be sure of what you're buying. |

Makes sense to always check out what you're buying.
That being said- what was this specific unit made entirely of plastic? |
