i apologize in advance,i usually do not ask "value" questions,but im a bit out of my relm,i collect WW1,WW2, and AK variant weapons
i did some work for a fella and he gave me a co2 pellet rifle as a bonus knowing i was a gun nut
not really my thing but it looked old,come to find out its from the early 1960's
its a crosman 400 repeater,second variant because no cross bolt,and diecast trigger guard
was curious if anyone had an idea regarding value? Google only resulted in very old postings as to value
it is missing the magazine,furniture in fine condition,bluing in fair,some minor paint chips on trigger guard

| there is a place that has replacement mags for the 400 and it runs from $40-$125 depending on the condition of the gun. i have 2 and 1 is nice the other is poor. but they are nice shootin guns with good quality from the days when we got what we paid for not what they cram down our face nowdays |

thanks rob for the reply,dont think i'll put any money into it if the high end value is only a buck twenty five
the repro mags seem to be $40,a third of the high end value,and i dont even know if it holds pressure,i read that inactivity can result in seal failure
i went back today and asked if he knew what happened to the mag,and he didnt even realize there was suppose to be one and that it was missing,so no joy there

| Take a few pbotos and post them on the classifieds here and somebody will buy them. they are nice well built guns from when crosman was totaly american made. no cheep chinese crap. i shoot mine every few weeks to make sure the seals stay soft. i have a few war guns like a russian tokarev pistol, a mosin nangent m44 and a fine garand . oh yes dads luger he took off an officer who was too scared to shoot. dad droped him with his m1 carbine and took his luger and holster. this german officer musta been scared as the luger wasnt ever fired. and it still has never been fired. dad wanted it left unshot but kept oiled to remember why he was in ww II |

i have several P08's and several P38's , as well as a Walther PP with original bring back papers , i have 4 numbers matching P08's and 2 matching P38's , but i have put together plinkers from the parts bins at gun shows , took a bit to complete and to get head spaced but they are fun , the trick to these ole girls is to keep the loads lite , they are more accurate and less stress , i group better with that bastard P08 than i do with my Ruger P38
if your gun is as you say thats smart to not shoot it , you should locate your dads paperwork (bring back papers) it can add considerable value to the piece , thanks for the story |
