Hey guys. Well, my Theresa had her right wrist fused last wed. I'm doing all of the cooking and cleaning, washing and dressing her and so on and so forth. Are any of you in a similar situation? If so, how do you keep up? I am so far behind on cleaning and laundry it isn't funny.and we are in a 9 and a half week countdown for her other hip to be replaced. Guys I am running down quick.

She is back in the wheelchair because her right hip is gone. She has a disease called avascular necrosis. It's where the tiny capillaries in the ends of her bones are closing off and cutting off the blood supply to her cartilage. The left hip went first, now it's her right. And she can't use a walker because of the bone fusing in her wrist.

I really feel like I need god's help so I am persuing and exploring that area of my life tomorrow. Yes, Oddtodd is going to church! It's a place called rock solid ministries. They are affiliated with the assemblies of god, and I went thru their website with a fine tooth comb. They sound like a really good outfit and I listened to a few of their sermons on the net. It speaks to me, so I am going.

I've also found that shooting and working on my guns have become more than just fun. They are a retreat into a world that I control, for good or bad. Is this a bad thing? I don't think so right now, but i don't let it take much time. I can't. My Theresa takes too much care. Do you guys have any ideas on how I can get thru this easier? I honestly don't know how much more I can do at this point. The floors need swept and mopped, the bathroom needs cleaned, and the kitchen requires almost constant care because of her coffee and tea to keep her hydrated.

I only get a shower every other day right now because I have to alternate between me taking one and giving her one. I have to tape a bread bag over her bandage and wash her entire right side because she can only do her left side because of only her left hand being free. It's even more difficult because she has to sit down in the shower. I have to dry her off completely because she can't do it with just one hand.

On top of everything else we had to get sprayed for bedbugs. I had to wash and dry every article of bedding and clothing we use. I think her son John carried them in, because we were free of them the first two months we lived here. We went thru two checks without them finding anything. They do bug checks once a month here. The 21st of this month they are checking us again, and I really hope we get the all clear because I am tired of living out of trash bags. We have to keep our clothes sealed up tightly to keep them from getting in the clothes again. I really am praying we get the all clear.

Well, thanks for reading this and if you have any ideas please share. I am getting to the end of my rope.

Oddtodd out

Right on, Tod. Good choice turning to God.
You are in my prayers, my good man.

Hey Todd. Sorry to hear about your situation and hopes she makes a suitable recovery. Shooting will help take your mind off the stress. Nothing wrong with asking for a little help, especially when you NEED it, like you do right now. Always remember, He will not give you a bigger burden than you can bear. Now don't forget to cheer her up & keep her smiling, and she'll do the same for you. Pains and confinement can really mess up a persons mind if their not careful.
And one more thing bro. All the bad things we go through in this life will either kill us or make us stronger, and often times we get to choose whether or not we gain strength form our adversities or just succumb to weakness. Keep the fight going bro. We're praying for you both.

If you don't ask for help you may never get it.

Obviously I haven't been following in a long time, but it sounds like you got yourself in between a rock and a hard place... If I was religious I'd pray for you, but it's definitely a good thing for you to have some place to turn to in your time of need. Keep strong and do all that you possibly can, I saw a woman at the gym today and her shirt read "LOVE NEVER FAILS".
