THat is the same thing that happened in my town when the concealed carry permit laws went into place. I know a LOT of people that pack heat legally around here. Even my lawyer packs, and I'm pretty sure his secretary does too. I carry a shiv, which can be just as fast in the right circumstances and a whole lot quieter. lol

That makes a lot of sense. If someone enetrs your home to steal your belongings, and possibly physically assault you, You should have the right to defend yourself. Maybe not by blowing them off of the steps with a Shotgun!, but with a Pistol of something in smaller Caliber.

New carpet and some Kilz and you would never know the blood was there! Mr. Green

Hi, you all shared really nice information here about the killing of burglar, According to my personal view we should a right to defend ourselves if we feel our life or some one elses life is at risk, but I also agree with MR: Jr. Squirreler who think that someone shouldn't blown them off of the steps with a Shotgun.

I think a shotgun is perfectly fair, if they are in your house. How do you know they haven't got a gun? Why should you have to chance it? They are the ones who decided to take up a dangerous occupation. Breaking into an occupied house, even by accident, is just another way of saying "I don't care if I live anymore."

By the way I have always found it interesting that the people who are the most anti-gun, and anti-self defence, are usually the onces who feel that violent criminals are misunderstood, and should be protected, paroled, etc. I got to thinking, wait a minute...they are actually pro-crime. They may know some of these murderes and rapists from their own time in prison...like some of the Illinois Governors.

I have to agree with radar here. If someone breaks into your house with you in it, you don't know what their intent is. While I'm not a fan of shotguns, I see nothing wrong with using one for defence.

The way I see it is if you break into my house you are threatening me and mine. Whether it be a throwing knife, a shotgun with a deer slug, or a fighting knife you are going down before you pull this crap on someone else. I will stop you. Whether it is permanent is up to you.

I think there may not be any issue with the using of gun for your personal defense. And also if you kill a person for safety of your property.Because you a person is entering in your property without any permission if you don't kill him.My be he kill you for his safety.

My philosophy on this topic is very easy to understand. Intruder enters my home to steal or damage my property, or threaten or hurt my family, I will put them ON the ground with sufficient effort as quickly as possible so that the undertaker can put them IN the ground when I'm done. No hesitation, no wounding, and I say this only for the fact that that hesitation or or wound that may be insufficient to stop the intruder may be sufficient motivation for them to try to kill me or mine. It's like grandpa taught me. "It's always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6"
But then again, I dont have to worry too much. Between the rottweiler, 2 pitbulls and the 2 presas that roam my yard, an intruder would have a difficult time reaching the house w/out me knowing.

I don't have to worry about it much anymore. I live in a locked complex. They would have to come thru 2 locked doors then ride the elevator to my floor and then try to get thru my solid oak fire door. (my side of the hallway is the firewall). Then after making that much noise they would be facinf my comopund bow with cooperhead ripper expanding broadheads. And WHen I let that baby go it will make a big enough hole somewhere for them to bleed to death rather quickly. It has a 3 inch cutting circle.

That's why I like the anonymity of living in an apartment complex. Find Me fuckers! lol
