Hi all above are some pictures of my SMK (BAM) 19 rifle. I bought the gun for 140 pounds including a scope , mounts , gun bag and 1000 pellets . the gun was like new and hardly used .
Fitted a Welsh Willy tuning kit which was a titan mainspring, spring guide, top hat for spring . Gun innards were polished up to make it smoother and the gun which lacked any lubrication was lightly moly greased to back of piston, once piston was in cylinder given a light coat of graese and the trigger was replaced with a Welsh willy one which makes it lighter and more predictable.
Lovely gun , stock was crap so stripped with stripper and refinished in Birch wood casey walnut stain then seven coats of Tru oil and finally three coats of Birchwood casey gun stock wax , great improvement as opposed to original finish which looked like the giun had been painted with fence preserver!!!
Whole project cost about 200 pounds and its a great little rifle, puts out about 10.5ftlb and should run in to about 11ftlb.
Original finish yuck!!!----

Beautiful work dude. I am in the process of redoing my crosman storm XT. I found a section on fashion stains and the first one I picked would have been perfect for the woods if it actually matched what was in the can. It was supposed to be a deep emerald green. What it came out as was little girl's green. You know, the kind they wear with pink all the time? So I took it back and had them mix me up some onyx, and so far it is beautiful. I am getting ready to level my next coat with 320 grit and rub it in again. To look at it at a glance, it looks just black, but once you get too looking at it the shade range from jacobean, to ebony, to jet. It will be awesome once I get it sanded out and a coat or 5 of poly on it. lol |
