Yes, woodworking, because this way nobody will be suspicious untill I actually start making gunstocks. Razz

I sure miss shooting but I make up for it by doing guitar stuff. When I move to a bigger place or get an unshared appartment one of the first things I'll get is an airgun. Mr. Green

Nice to hear from you! I think woodworking on musical instruments is even more demanding than gunstocks.

I'm finding out more and more that less is more and the more you spend the more can go wrong. Razz

I think I spend the most money on the neck (100 bucks, it was a mismatch but I can find nothing wrong with it, one piece maple!) in this particular project. The body is made of pine and hardboard. Spend about 10 bucks on that I think.

Some progress:

I'll mount the bridge next week. I made the holes to big so I have to put on a different one. Not a biggy, I have a couple laying around. Mr. Green

The electronics on a 1 pickup guitar is easy, real beginners stuff. Just connect the dots, really.

How many pick ups does a guitar usually have? How many does it need for really good sound? Masonite is awesome stuff. Machines nicely and strong as, well really strong.
Red.

Most guitars have 1 or 2 pickups. I have seen some with as many as 4. The waters of guitar tone debate are deep, indeed. There is absolutely no simple answer to "how many do you need".

The old Danelectro's often came with one. The first electric guitars generally just had one. More then 3 is a bit overdoing it, though the difference in output on pickups may be a reason why you would do that.

Wiring it becomes a bit of a pain in the a$$ though, and I think it just doesn't look right to have more then three, and I prefer two, also because of the simplicity; I like it when a guitar has a clearly distinguishable sound from another one.

I might put a Piezo pickup in the one up there too, but I haven't decided yet. Couldn't finish it because I had been applying for art-school, which reminds me. I should tell the bros on the forum. Mr. Green

Lets don't get into the sonic differences here, just wondering where you were headed with that...of course it needs a 3x9 scope to reach tonal Nirvana...
